Guest rickwookie Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 I copied a midi file to the windows folder to use as a ringtone, but when I swich off the phone and then turn it back on again, the file has vanished and the ringtone defaults to 'Alarm1' until I replace the file. Does 'Quick List->Power off' reset windows folder??? :?
Guest Jasonkruys Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 I believe the windows folder gets restored to its default state HOWEVER you switch off/restart the phone
Guest rickwookie Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 So where do I put midi files so they can be used as ringtones and won't keep dissapearing?
Guest zeta101 Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 yeah this is the ROM and it gets restored eahc time u reset. Place you ringtones here instead: Storage/Application Data/Sounds Storage is the RAM and it wont get over written
Guest rickwookie Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 Cool, thanks. I just tried 'StorageMy Documents' and the ringtone menu finds the file there too. I assume Storage is the root of the RAM drive so anything in there or its subdirectories will stay after reset?
Guest rickwookie Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 Sweet. That's one 'bug', or so I thought, fixed... ...now the only problem I have is the knackered 'UP' on the joystick which only works if I nudge it VERY slightly. I know the battery management is good on this phone, but I didn't expect the first charge to outlast the joystick!
