Guest tesla Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 I bought a Jabra BT250 to use with my C500. They've paired up OK, but I have a couple of questions. In order to initiate the voice dial, I appear to have to press the button on the earpiece twice before the voice prompt will happen. Secondly, when the 2 devices are paired, I see the handsfree "headset" icon at the top of the screen, but the Headset profile is not selected for me, nor can I manually select it. This is OK for making calls, but if I wanted it to auto-answer, I would want that only to be set in that profile. I am new to both Smartphones and BT headsets, so I may very well be doing something daft...
Guest Phil Lee Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 I have a Plantronics M3000 bluetooth headset that I use with my C500. To get voice dial I have to press and hold the connect button until the voice dial system kicks in. A double press of the connect button performs a last number redial. The headset profile only becomes active when you plug a headset into the headset connector on the phone. It doesn't get activated when you are in handsfree mode. I don't think you can get the phone to auto answer using a Bluetooth headset.
Guest tesla Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 Thanks, Phil, but holding down the connect button on the Jabra turns it on or off. I tried the Jabra with an Ericsson T68 and it works with one button press on the headset, so it appears to be some quirk with interaction with the C500 :)
Guest tesla Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 I e-mailed Jabra about it last night - I'll post here when I get a response from them.
Guest tesla Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 Sadly Jabra's response was basically "we haven't tested it with a C500 so we can't help". Great...
Guest DrG Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 any updates on this as im also having the second issue: Secondly, when the 2 devices are paired, I see the handsfree "headset" icon at the top of the screen, but the Headset profile is not selected for me, nor can I manually select it. This is OK for making calls, but if I wanted it to auto-answer, I would want that only to be set in that profile. I really want to be able to have my bluetooth headset auto answering my calls... cheers
Guest thomba Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 I have a BT200 and a C500 and I recognize the same problem. My voice-dial won't kick in at all. I've pretty much given up on trying to get it back to work, but maybe someone out there has the solution?
Guest smeg36 Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 I have the SMT5600 and BT200, so not the exact same setup, but close. To get the voice dial activated, I have to hold down the call button on the headset until it beaps a second time. When you first press the call button, it will beep once, then if you hold it down it will beap a second time. That is when you release the button, before the headset turns off. Then the voice dial should activate. At least it does with my setup.
Guest DrG Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 but does ur phone recognise the headset as a "headset" as in does it change the profile to headset allowing u to have the auto answer function?
Guest smeg36 Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 Don't know, I have never really tried before. I don't think so.
Guest sevenfire Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Try reseting the headset. How? read the manual in the section "in case of headset is not discovered or recognized". It involves putting your headset in the charger and take it out in seconds. Good luck
