C500 Dialling GPRS for no reason? HELP!

I left my C500 in my bedroom today whilst i went off to watch some TV, and when i came back, the GPRS symbol was on the signal meter, to say a GPRS call was being made! The only things that were running at the time were: Messages, Activesync, and Media remote 2004

This also happened the other night when i left my phone in the front room after a boozy night out, and in the morning it was dialled in to GPRS! I don't recall any programs running then, maybe messages.

What the hell is going on? If i get a bill for £400 of data i am NOT going to be amused. And i am on the phone to 150 first thing tomorrow too.

I've just had the same for the last day. No apps were running and even after power cycling the phone, GPRS fired back up! Pressing End Call stopped it but it starts back up 5 secs later.

This has only been happening since yesterday, when I re-set up my email accounts due to other (C500 related, I think) problems.

So, I just deleted the accounts and GPRS is back to normal. I've recreated the accounts and everything is still ok?!

(Automatic email checking has been off all the time)

I've noticed this same issue a few time. Little "G" is in the signal meter when I haven't used GPRS. Never had this problem on E200,MPX200 or SPV Classic

The little G is supposed to be there - it indicates you have GPRS coverage not that you have a GPRS call in progress. It is exactly the same for the SPV Classic and E200.

They are referring to the tiny G that appears above the signal meter when a GPRS call is in progress, not the little G that appears at the top centre of the display.

i noticed this, my screen light up and it had the gprs icon (the one in the far right conrner :)) checked xbar and all that was running was the startmenu app. Have never even gone into the menus for email to set it up. Weird.

I noticed this too, the small little G was still there three hours after I loaded a webpage... went away when I pressed the red button.

Hope it doedn't mean anything, I had enough lip of O Customer Services last month for not re-booting my phone when it jammed with arrows for a snail-data call still there. (Computer said it had hung up, and I couldn't get it to do anything, so I thought it must've.)

Just found out - press and hold the home key, and you get an option to disconnect GPRS.
