Guest nateC500 Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 Hi guys, I am new to the forum and the whole smartphone scene so excuse my initial ignorance :) Does anyone know how to format the SD card in the Orange C500??? It has all of this orange try stuff which I am not interested in, so would rather use the storage space for MP3 tones etc! Also by erasing whats on the card, will I loose any functionality? I have active sync etc all set up, have erased what I can see on the 16mb card, but it still has only 13mb free, so 3mb is still being used. Any help would be greatly appreciated, also any advice on removing useless files on the phone memory after game un-installation (i.e a file cleaner) would be spot on. Thanks people
Guest Disco Stu Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 I don't have a C500, but to get you started, there is usually a card format option with the Task Manager software. You might want to think about buying a bigger card instead though as you'll fill the supplied one up very quickly. You need to install all apps and games onto the card rather than the phone, because as you've noticed, it gets filled up quickly as well :)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 Welcome to the site :P As stu said you need a bigger minSD card the most common size is 256MB which I would recommend you get. As for formatting the card an excellent and must have app is Task Manager from www.binarys.com this will format the card for you, also while you are there you will want Smart Explorer as well :)
