Guest gingerninja Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 I have recorded some video on my new c500 in mp4 format. What software do I need to be able to play them back on my computer? Thanks Andy
Guest martin Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 I recently downloaded DivX Player which is very cool (especially since I updated the skin 8) ) http://www.divx.com/divx/download/
Guest gingerninja Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 Thanks t3dluke works a treat. Have to go out now will try martin's suggestion tomorrow. Cheers
Guest t3dluke Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 DivX player plays DivX files not mp4, there is a difference.
Guest martin Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 Ahh OK, wasn't too sure. DivX player still rocks though :) Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest SmugX Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 Actually, what's going on here? It's a Microsoft OS phone, a Microsoft OS PC - they bundle Microsoft Media Player 9 on the install CD - and yet you need Apple QuickTime to play the video files?!?!? I have FFDSHOW installed, which has got a few Microsoft MP4 codecs, but none of these seem to enable me to play my C500 videos on my PC, unfortunately ... Does anyone know of any other solutions apart from QuickTime, then? (I just don't like the QuickTime player for some reason ...) Cheers, Neil.
Guest VicSmurf Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 You can play the movie with mediaplayer classic. It is part of the k-lite codecpack which you can download from www.codecpack.nl
Guest SmugX Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 Hmm ... http://www.k-litecodecpack.com looks a bit fishy, doesn't it? I can't even get any information on the codecs without paying, unless I'm being thick ...
Guest markcastle Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Does anyone know of any other solutions apart from QuickTime, then? (I just don't like the QuickTime player for some reason ...) Windows Media Encoder will happily convert mp4 files into a format that Windows Media Player will play. I've not had any success getting audio out of the mp4 files using this method however - but then, i've not really tried to hard either. HTH
Guest Ravens Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 btw can the c500 record sound in a movie ?
