how do u put songs on ure phone to work as a ringtone? and does anyone no where to get free stuff for my orange SPV?

Welcome to the site mate :)

SP2002 OS phones will play .wav (PCM-format) and MID0 files.

WM2003 OS will play the above plus .wma and MID1 & MID2.

Download them to your PC. Unzip them if necessary.

Connect the phone to PC with ActiveSync and copy & paste them into IPSM (or Storage on 2003) Application Data Sounds (create the latter if not there).

Select them in Programs, Settiings, Sounds.
