Dumb Question about changing home screen

I am assuming if I change my homescreen using one of the .cab installers in the customisation section that I will lose the side menus of the default layout? Is anyone working on .cabs that will work with this layout. Anyone want to buy Blade a C500?

Having played around with the homescreen I can tell you that the C500 home screen plugin is a full screen affair. If you insert any other plugins into the SML with it, it gets shited downwards and doesn't work properly. I don't think the vertical plugin will be usable with any other plugin, although I have very limited experience in customising home screens.
