Hi guys,

Are you able to have a start up tone on the e100?

Cheers

Any wav sound placed in the windows startup folder will play on startup. But when I did this on the original spv I seem to remeber that you can't delete it or something. I think I had to overwrite the file with a blank one of the same name. BTW I used to use that long R2D2 whistle - always attracted too much attention and left me covering the speaker.

LOL, I have the 20th Century Fox tune and a couple of windows sounds having a hard time choosing. Where about do you store them what is the folder name?

Best thing is to edit the registry much better then placing in the

Start Menu as that can lead to problems.

Using PHMRegedit from www.monolithix.org you can alter the registery and give the phone a startup sound by changing the following settings.

HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelSoundsSystemStartup

Then select Values and then Sound

Now change the Value Data to the path and name of your wav (eg, if you save the wav to IPSMWindows then the value is simply IPSMWindowsblah.wav, where blah.wav is the name of your wav file of course)

For more info click on the word tweak and see what other interesting things you can do :)

i found the problem was with the wav format... for sum reason qtek 7070 didnt like the wav file being set as the startup sound... i replaced it with the strum.mid and everything works now...

Can wav file be converted to midi? if so, can you please point me to a tool that can do the job? TIA

I think you can go for WAV PCM format.... try looking in an audio edit program and see the WAV format.
