Guest clifhanger_uk Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 Can anyone suggest why when I connect my C500 and activesync successfully connects. When I press the explore button I dont see any device or folders, just a blank explore window. Im using active sync 3.7.1 Thanks for any help.
Guest Disco Stu Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 This has happened with other phones. If going up a level and retrying doesn't work, reboot both phone & PC and you may well get the folders structure.
Guest Stewie_UK Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 Also check your firewall settings on your PC - I had similar problems with Norton Internet Security on an SPV100, yet when I turned off the firewall and reconnected the device all the folders showed up. (I had to reinstall windows on a new hard drive at the time anyway, and that cured the problem in the end so I don't have to disable firewall - none of the 'permit' rules I changed seemed to affect it so a reinstall was my only option then).
Guest clifhanger_uk Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Thanks, a reboot works as does messing about with firewall settings.... Does seem inconsistent behavior though :? The issues still happens occasionally
Guest drblow Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 This is happening to me now! But it's happening way too much for the remedy to be rebooting PC & phone, which I've had to do 3 times already tonight! :x I've tried deleting the partnership & starting a new one, tried clicking up thru folders & back, tried quitting WCESCOMM with task manager & restarting activesync. Nothing works except rebooting the PC. Does anyone have any clues about what could be causing it? I guess the only thing I haven't tried yet is reinstalling activesync. Wouldn't be anything to do with outlook would it? All my stuff syncs OK, its just explore ...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 Make sure you have Activsync 3.7.1 I've noted this can hapen more when you unplug then plug the phone back in rather than just leave it connected. Hopefully a newer version of Activsync will be out soon as 3.7.1 has been out for a while now.
Guest drblow Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 Yeah, it is version 3.7.1. This is really quite annoying. Can you just leave the phone connected when it is rebooted? Thats the main reason I have for removing the plug?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 I reboot while connected it's only a hard reset that requires you unplug.
Guest drblow Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 Hmm .. cheers Ash! :) That does seem to be helping. Haven't had to reboot PC all day!
