Guest the bishop Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 I figured I'd post this just so everyone has all the information. They do not pay to ship it, so make sure you tell them how you want them to ship it back to you, or they will send it DHL COD (mine ended up costing $140 I think, but got there in 3 or 4 days). I'll list the contact info I have, plus the instructions on how to send it back as well. Although mine came from Hong Kong (and Mitac lists Owen as Taiwan support only) he fixed mine extremely fast. This guy ROCKS! Also, be prepared for your phone to sit in Chinese customs for up to 3 1/2 weeks. Here is his contact information: [email protected] MiTAC Technology (KunShan) LTD. Service Logistics Management Dept. Tel:0086-512-57367777-6330 T1:838-6330 Fax: 0086-512-57368585 Mobile Phone: 13773130081 Here is the Address to send it to: Room 512 #14 NanYuan West Community KunShan JiangSu Province P.R.China Post Code: 215300 Receiver: Owen Hu If all else fails, you can try the main Mitac distributor's email that is located in Hong Kong, which is: [email protected]

Guest slimomaticboo Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 Hey my phone needs to be fixed too. What was the procedure to send it? I love this phone and I can't get it to load properly. Must've installed something and it just recently decided not to accept it. I tried to reset but it doesn't vibrate twice at all. So I know I have to send this. Anyways. I saved the contact info but do you have to call first? Do you just ship the phone? Don't you need some type of paperwork to fill out so they know what the heck is my phone doing there? What's the fastest or the cheapest shipping too? But seriously, this is the only site that gave me answer that will lead me to fixing my phone. Thanks Bishop. Email me or PM me if you can still help me.
Guest the bishop Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 Hi Slim - The first thing you do is send owen an email and tell him what's going on. He'll reply back and tell you to send it to him. Go ahead and send it and give him the tracking # -- and he'll let you know when he gets it. Fixing it takes a day or two (but be prepared to wait about 20 days for it to clear Chinese customs). Then, when he sends it back he *might* send it DHL which ran me like $150 -- ugh. Total turnaround will be around 30 days total.
Guest slimomaticboo Posted September 14, 2004 Report Posted September 14, 2004 It's cool, I figured it out. The reset function given on the instruction didn't work since it was just a soft reset. The hard reset which was actually formatting the flash ram worked better. I don't have to send it anymore.
