Guest zoegod Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 Im sure Many of us share the common problem of the chipping off call button (SAGO green and red as others call it) and im one of them. just a few months of use and the metalic sheet of the button chips off. i saw on one of the post a picture of a SAP with the ANTI-SAGo buttons and i tried it my self. Heres how i did it. 1. Dismantle the SAP (syempre) 2.Scrape of the remaining SILVER part of the call buttons by the use of ur trusty fingernails exposing the elegantly baduy green and red color. 3. Also scrape off the sides for it is also seen when u put back the keypads. 4. Scrape off the 2nd layer of color (the RED and GREEN by the ude of a flat screw driver or any instrument. dont use pointed. It will then expose the transluscent white color of the keypads. 5. Be very carefull in scraping so as to prevent deep scratches. dont worry of shallow scratches. its just normal to create scratch mark for it will be removed later. 6. when all the color is gone, use a fine sand paper (one used for steel sharpening) and smoothen the buttons. Be sure to do same direction strokes to produce a clean and smooth finish. WALLA! Anti-sago Keypads, bringing back the original glow of ur SAP the pads will also glow when the backlight of the keypads are on. ADDED SUGGESTION: I think coloring the bottom part of the call button key pads with any colored marker will produce a colored call button of ur choice. di ko pa na try but because medyo transluscent yung pads, i think Color from belo will be visible sa Front. NOTE: in the process i tore the call buttons from the other rest of the keypads. no problem encountered naman after i returned it in its place sa casing kahit di na sila magkaka dikit as 1 whole keypad.anti sago2.JPGanti sago.JPG
Guest zoegod Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 Next Project.. Joystick improvement. hehehe badly needed as seen sa pics.
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Yung nasa pix ba ikaw na mismo nag pintura? Ang ganda ng effect. :)
Guest zoegod Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 nope. thats not painted. thats the back light of the keypads radiating on the call buttons. Looks good as new ang effect if u use very fine sand paper. i recommend it ksi i see many very smooth SAP spoiled by the lousy, chipped off call button call buttons.
Guest kalinte Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 i did better than that... i had my soft keys changed sa BP (warranty pa e) pero my action key( not covered ng warranty) looks exactly like yours.. hehehehe i'll be looking forward to your solution for it.
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 @zoegod Pare yung faceplate mo iba yung kulay sa default faceplate. Anong ginamit mong color jan? Iba ba talaga or namamalik mata lang ako? Ganda kasi eh. Napaka elegante. 8)
