Guest davveman37 Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Is it possible to change the text on the right soft key on my Qtek 8080? I successfully managed to change so it now is a shortcut to pocketmusic and now I want it to change the text to "MP3". Anyone got an idea how to do that?

Guest Mathias Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 Isn't possible unless you run 2003 Second Edition.
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 Hi ^_^ On SP2002 units, you can have the right soft key launch your specified program. Just edit the Value Data the key '1' under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftShellRAI:MSCONTACTS By default, key '1' have a Value Data of: appman -s Apps :MSCONTACTS tpcutil.dll AMContacts You can have for example a Value Data of... "Storage CardProgram FilesPhoto Caller IDCallerID.exe" ...this Value Data will lauch Aidem's Photo Caller ID app instead of the phone's default Contacts app. Regarding changing the text display, take a look at what RCP did on this thread: http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=109524 Notice the texts in this screenshot? 'Start' instead of the default 'Programs' So I think it is possible to change the text.
Guest Mathias Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 The shortcut, yes. But according to MS it isn't possible to change the text but who knows...
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 RCP was able to change the text as shown in the picture.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 FYI - it involves hex edting the ROM image - not for the faint hearted!
