Guest triplej982 Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Hey guys, I have a motorola mpx-200 and just purchased a 128mb SD card for it. I have wallpaper, songs, mp3's that were coverted to wave files and of course movies stored on it. How do i get the phone to use the wave files as ringtones, get the movies to show up in windows media player, or get the wallpaper to show up in the home list? I can only play my music from the card but i cant set that as ringtones. PLEASE HELP!! :) John
Guest steveuk99 Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 IIRC you just have to create a folder on the card called My Documents and the files should appear when using the relevant program.
Guest Disco Stu Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 You can get Jeyo Personaliser from Handango etc which AFAIK is the only way to use homescreens stored on the card. It also allows ringtones from the card. I thought Windows Media Player picked up files from anywhere on the card, but maybe not :?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 The movies have to be wmv format to play on the phone unless you install a third party app like Beta Player then you can play other formats. As to ringtones you can only have standard ringtones and not custom ones on your card and the same applies to homescreens, you can not use homescreen themes on the card only the images. As mentioned above place ringtones and homescreen images in My Documents on the storage card, otherwise place them in IPSMApplication Data Sounds (for ringtones) or Home (for homescreens)
Guest triplej982 Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Thanks for the quick replies but i did do the my documents folder. What happened was when you go to settings/sounds, you can set that sound but it only beeps???
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 If you only get a beep it's because the sound is not in the correct format. It needs to be in .wav or midi0 format. There's a sticky guide to converting mp2 to .wav format for ringtones in the top of this section :)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Also please do not crosspost :) http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...9032&highlight=
