SPV c500 Freezing

Only had the phone a couple of days but it's "frozen" on me a couple of times, requiring the battery to be popped out and the phone rebooted.

The only new bit of software I have on there is freespace and I'm waiting for an update SMS from Orange because I've requested it to be unlocked. I have a couple of mp3 files on there and the South Park Matrix thing, but nothing else untoward.

Any ideas? Not a great problem but a tad annoying.

Friends at work had the c100 and the c200 and I waited patiently for all the niggly things to be sorted - what a fantastic step up from a humble old Nokia with monochrome screen! I've not got colour, video, camera, pda 120 minutes and 250 texts (and double that for the first 6 months!)

Have you stored any large files to the phones memory ?

What memory do you have available when the phone is first turned on ?

i did have the south park matrix trailer on, but have since removed that, and so far no crashes... hmm..

confused about memory tho - im sure one of the websites i looked at said the phone has 64mb onboard PLUS the 16 mini sd card maybe i misread?

Mine has forzen a few times too!!

Now it recently decided to Hard reset itself and lost all data conection info :)

Orange tech are looking into this for me as at present it is not possible to even manually set up net options!

They couldnt fix over the phone so a new one is being delivered tomorrow

I finally picked up my C500 on Sunday from a business shop - its wonderful.

Alas it finally froze this evening - 60% charge - been watchin videos n stuff - died whilst trying to ad a photo i just took with the camera as a caller id.

not too upset about this as the phone is sooooooooooooo brilliant

may change my mind if it hapens too often

The callerid freeze is a common problem - could legitimately be called a bug I think, been seen by enough people now.

Got new C500 today as faulty one collected for examination

Aphex2k, has orange unlocked your phone yet? how much did they charge and how long did it take them to send the sms :/

u can go to the orange developer site to unlock.

you have to register, and as yet, there's no option for the c500, but i selected the e200 and got the unlock sms in about 10 mins to say the phone is unlocked - the message comes in english and french.

not had any lock ups since the large vid file was taken off so maybe that was it. i still have the 16meg card in as im waiting for 512 cards to be a bit cheaper.

i've installed the alaram plug in that puts the little icon on the home screen when ur alarm is set and it worked initially but now it doesnt. any ideas?? i put the cab file in my documents and ran it successfully but im thinkin it was in the wrong place??
