Non Selecting Action Key

Anyone else having problems with using the Action Key to select menus etc. It seems very much a hit or miss affair on some menus. I hear the click but nothing happens other times it does strange and weird things (multiple clicks pereformed) particularly in e-mail. I have 2 C500's both with this problem

Any advice
