Guest mjheathcote Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 I have not upgraded to the C500 yet, waiting for the 'dust' to settle etc. Reading through the forum, I see too many people sending their phones back for replacement. Whether it be dust, broken keys, dead pixels, whatever. Some are on their second or third phones!! Maybe the number of returns is only a small percentage of those that are 100% happy, but it is really putting me off upgrading at present from my e100 that has had no quality problems in nearly 18 months. Mike.
Guest SirGaz Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 I wouldn't worry about the quality problems, I have a major dust problem which will hopefully be rectified today when I get a replacement but other than that I have to say the the phone is wonderful. If you wait around for the product to be made perfectly by HTC then you'll be waiting a long time, same with all the other phones.
Guest snakeeater Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 As the person pointed out above, if you wait for the perfect device, you'll probably be waiting forever. I have had the C500 for over a week and think its fantastic. High quality screen, small, great battery life, smoother video capture. I honestly have no complaints 8)
Guest beersoft Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 its the same with every new phone, lots of shouting about being rubbish and this and that doesn't work. we have a very vocal group that moan about everything (and i love all of them :)) but most of the phones out there don't get replaced because 99% of the phones work within acceptable boundaries and i think most people have better things to do than moan at orange all day later Owen
Guest Phil Lee Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 Apart from the dust build-up in my phone I think the C500 is the best phone I've ever had. Hopefully my replacement phone won't have the dust problem of my current handset.
Guest dave78 Posted September 2, 2004 Report Posted September 2, 2004 I think most people have got a reliable handset, (2 colleagues at work have) although I will be on my fourth tomorrow. My (brand new) replacement came this morning and the UP on the rocker only goes half way then you have to force it (quite hard) to make it move. Maybe i'm getting a dodgy batch here, Orange are investigating the handsets i've had, and i've got to ring one particular person if tomorrows is pap too. I love the handset but I want one that will take a full year of button pressing, not 1 second like this one, or 3 days which is the best i've had so far . And i've not been gaming on it! Hope tomorrow is a 'great buttons' day... :!: Dave
