Advice needed - E200 replacement

Hello all,

Since many of you are experts when it comes to Orange CS and Smartphones I thought this the best place to ask for advice.

I have had 5 faulty E200's within the last five months (including 3 keypad faults) and have also had to call CS on at least 10 other occasions to have faults rectified (usually GPRS issues). They have finally (after a lot of mix-ups, failing to call back, general ineptitude) decided that I am entitled to a replacement model. The three they have offered me are:

1) Motorola MPx200

2) Handspring Treo 600

3) Nokia 6600

I had informed them I don't want any of these phones as:

1) This has no bluetooth (which I use), uses old windows software and is no longer actually sold by Orange (I assume as a result of the upcoming new Moto phones). Therefore its not really a like-for-like replacement

2) This also has no bluetooth, has an awful screen and is ridiculously large (and this coming from someone who is happy with the size of his E200 and original SPV). Also, the guy in the Orange store (who was amazingly helpful) said 'if you've had problems with the E200 don't touch this with a bargepole, its had lots of problems and has only just come out of quarantine'.

3) I tried this once and its terrible. Cheap and plastic looking. I'm sure there are also problems with it. Please someone let me know what they are.

Orange have said I can upgrade, but this would mean a £200 fee (plus the cost of a phone) and being tied to Orange for a further 7 months, which is not an appealing prospect given the problems I've had. They said I could get an SPV C500 free but the upgrade fee would still apply.

So, Orange refuse to budge on this and my only option seems to be writing to their complaints department.

What should I do??

Is there any way I can get Orange CS to budge? Has anyone else had this problem and managed to get it resolved to their satisfaction?

Sorry if I sound like I'm moaning but I had so many problems with my original SPV (and Orange CS) before and without Orange Care I was unable to get them fixed easily.

TIA

Adrian

Orange CS are totally useless IMO

Every time I call (if they don't cut me off) I need to speak to a team leader to get anyting done!

Complain like hell! they always cave in my experience

After this 5th faulty phone and a number of mistakes by their normal staff I've tried to speak to only team leaders.

The two I've spoken to (I could never get through to the same one) have refused to offer anything more, despite my reasoning as to why none of the phones they offer are suitable and the fact that I'm a customer with quite high bills (£100/month). I even asked for their complaints address and the name of their MD. They only gave me the name of their head of customer services, but I know the CEO/MD's name anyway!

Get a well consturcted letter off to them asap ask for a written reply

It's very easy for them to blag on the phone. Harder to justify themselves in text

Good luck
