Guest louisg Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Hope someone can help. I have a c500. I have put many wav files onto mini sd card and can chose which ones i wish to use as a ring tone and warnings etc. But i cant seem to use any of these for custom ringtones. i have heard this is not possible. is this true? and if so why cant this be done? So i put the wav files i wanted to use as custom ringtones on the phones internal memory in application data ~ sound file. The problem now it wont read from sd card for tones i set up earlier it will only let me choose ones that are on phone, and i still cant set up my custom ringtones. Im pulling my hair out please help.
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 I think you have to put the WAV files in the root directory of your mSD card (i.e. Storage Cardringtone.wav)
Guest Fozza Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 I am having the same issue. Can use any ringtone in the root directory as a normal ringtone or alert but can not use them as a custom ringtone for a contact. Is this possible?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 11, 2004 Report Posted September 11, 2004 Place ringtones in My Documents on the miniSD card As for custom ringtones they have to be on the phone and not the card.
Guest lucabrasie Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 i am having the same issue. Wav files are on the phone (storage/my docs). available for main ring tone but not for custom. Tried putting the files in virtually all other folders but to no avail. Would be good if someone has a good fix/ method for this. Thanks. :?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 If they do not show up it probably means they are not compatable with the custom tone settings.
Guest lucabrasie Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 Thanks, just seems strange that its settings are ok for the main ring tone but not custom. Dont suppose theres a way to give them the same requirements?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 Unfortunately not, this something we have all asked for since the early days of the Smartphone format :)
