Guest durag Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Forgive me if this isn't the correct place for this post but I'm having a serious issue here. First Activesync 3.7.1 with my SPV E200 worked fine. This was using the USB cradle. After I installed a Belkin bluetooth device and tried to setup bluetooth sync everything went to hell. Needless to say the bluetooth syncing didn't work. Yesterday I tried to sync with USB again and Activesync would just keep saying "connecting" when I attached my phone. I left it there as long as 3 hours and this never changed. Today, I decided to unistall the bluetooth software, and reinstall Activesync. I went into the registry and all and removed any keys for both programs. After the resinstall Activesync won't see the phone at all....kinda.......If I open the "get connected" screen in Activesync and it says to attach the phone and that the program will recognize it, I attach the phone. Then the screen disappears and Windows makes the little device attached sound. Nothing really happens though, it doesn't say "connecting" or anything, it just has the little grey symbol indicating no phone is attached. I reinstalled the USB drivers for the phone and everything and I'm lost. Anyone have any pointers? I've been googling all day and haven't come up with anything. Thanks. ______________
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 Have you checked your firewall settings?
Guest durag Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 Yes, the firewall isn't the issue. I tried shutting it down completely and nothing. No settings have changed sine the first time I had it working. I was thinking maybe I should reset my E200 to defaults and try again? For some reason I do not think it's my computer. I take very good care of my machine and nothing has changed since it was working properly. Thanks for the repsonse though.
Guest squall Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 On my pc i find that i have to try more than one usb post to get it to sync, and normally a different port every time. Also be sure not to connect through usb hubs etc, and i assume you have windows xp?
Guest durag Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 Appreciated, but even when connected directly into computer's USB port it fails. Though originally I was using a USB 2.0 hub. Even if connected through a 1.1 port it does the same thing. Thanks though.
Guest durag Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 I solved it!!! I had to hard reset my phone, then everything pretty much worked ok. First, it would connect again but would hang then say that some required communication software isn't active, well something to that effect. Anyway, I reinstalled Activesync, made sure it had internet privledges as well as server privledges in Zone Alarm. Then BAM!!! Even works connected through my USB Hub. It all works ok. Thanks to all that responded. Hope this may save someone the frustration it gave me. :)
