First time poster, so a moments reespect, peace and love to all you who have given me so much rock solid reading and resourcing since getting me mpx200 last month. I always swore at mobile technology, but this really is a PC in my pocket, that I already have, as a phone, a good reason to carry everywhere...

Phone

O/S with the english mod.

Skin - simple and concise homepage. I haven't found a simple enough multi screen homepage, but if anyone knows of an uncluttered example?

Apps - anyone know of an english version, or one that counts smoother?

PHM Reg editor - A must if you gonna make the phone your own.

Quickclose - helps me stay trim while I fiddle 8)

Quickreset - you really press the power button for 3 seconds a go for a reg change?

Thermo - I have tested this with cryogenic temp monitoring kit, and it's accurate to 2 - 3 degrees if left to monitor for 5 - 10 minutes. Don't believe it while the phone is charging 'cause of the heat produced by the flow of current, and obviously, if you've had the phone in a clammy pocket, next to a sticky hand, then it's not gonna tell you the outside temp! (Does anyone know what the thermocouple is attached to or what it is called in the hardware profile, cause it should be possible to write a live display for the homepage, bit like the Mytools clock icon (which incidentally are someone elses tools as far as I am concerned, as all I get IS the clock icon. 2003 compatability?))

Mods: The default homepage icons are media player, quick close and quickreset as the only three initial icons. No more solitaire tr!pe, and why have shortcuts to the inbox and calender when they can be accessed from the homepage itself.

The bandpass is turned off to make it worthwhile using the phone as an mp3/wma player all day at work. Just suffer a little with the tinny compression of the files, but I'm too skinflint to buy more cards than the 256 over 3 SD cards, which at 64kb wma gives me a full days music without repetition.

I'm always looking for more... this thing will fit like a glove by the time I've finished with it :)

W: Does any body know if it is possible to map the silver button on the headset as the action button whilst the phone is closed. I want to be able to play and pause wmedia player without having to open the phone. The power button or volume joy would be nearly an A+, but ideally I don't want to be reaching to my pocket either.

When the profile is set to Outdoor ("Loud" on WM2002), my rington gets much louder than the normal playback level. So it may be possible to edit a key that limits it and get other things louder, like maybe the audio playback from wmedia player (hopefully on the headset profile also :? )

Is there any possibility of using the camera as a USB webcam?

Are there any tools, other than SP Task Manager, for formatting SD cards? I have a 128Mb card that has had files written but not finished and so have just been left as unformatted and therefore corrupt data. SP didn't manage it.

Are there actually any hacked ROMs with amended (hopefully trimmed down) software profiles? I want rid of solitaire and stuff like that for good. Would it possibly leave the freed space read only, or is there like a partition table that could be amended to release it as read/write?

Here is the real clincher though... does anyone know how to turn off the hardware compatability checker during an installation in WM2003 so that I can force non SP pocket apps onto the phone? I want to try messing with a TV/video/cable etc remote control application or two. Never know, and being able to go to your mates and learn their remote without them suspecting a thing would be the slyest trick of the year  . I get a screen, sometimes before and sometimes after the install to phone/mounted volume screen (I think the point during the install is dependant on the method of installation), that tells me the "application is not intended for this device"... BUGGER!

Once again full r33sp3ct to y'all and particularly to everyone who makes such an effort to make the information public.
