Guest nassersyed2 Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 hey, i'm just reading up on MIDP and i'm very interested in looking for a JAVA/MIDP emulator or program that i could run old nokia games on my smartphone (mio 8380). particularly, the nokia game Bounce. i'm wondering if its possible to play such a game on our smartphones.. Thanks all in advance.
Guest Frazzyscot Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 yep it plays by moving the nokia com directory into the jar file but the graphics are a little mucked up
Guest nassersyed2 Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 can you elaborate? i downloaded a MIDP program with a com directory, and i got a .SIS file from teh nokia website (which is the bounce game) what else is it that i need to do????? thanks for helping
Guest Frazzyscot Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 you won't be able to run the sis file as that's for symbian phones like the p900..download the nokia com file from the (Nokia games with DeltaMIDP: Possible) thread in this forum and you'll need the bounce.jar file from somewhere. Just associate jar files with something like winrar and open it up and drag the com directory into it and save it. Then just drag it on your phone and open it up and it'll install itself
Guest nassersyed2 Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 ok, i've done what you said, then when i put it on my SD card, i try to run it in smartexplorer and it says "access denied" i added the com directory to the jar file in winrar like you said. is there something i left out? its bounce.jar that file that is. and when i run it nothing installs, is there a java program for my smartphone i'm suppose to run it in??? thanks for your help, i greatly appreciate it.
