External backlight on Mio 8380

I just have a quick question...the external LCD on my phone does not light up, and never has, and from the pictures that I see, the screen is supposed to be blue when backlit...is there any way I can get it to turn on, or is the phone just malfunctioning, and needs repair/replacement? thanks

I think i've heard of this happening with Mio's before. Try a search of the Mitac forum, then posting there if you have no luck with the search.
