SPV E200 not sync

just got a new E200 and followed instructions on setting up,however the small green icon on desktop for it just says "connecting" all the time,unfortunately it never connects and it cannot sync ,im using activesync 3.7.1 and have windows professional with sp2 installed,any advice appreciated,phone is on the orange uk network
