Guest beersoft Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 ok, so the better half has had her C500 for a few weeks and nothing has gone wrong with it, its only crashed when i have been putting games and whatnot on it. its not dropped any calls, lost any text messages or done any random stuff the screen is dust free and the battery is as good as ever. sorry i haven't got anything bad to moan about but there is nothing like rubbing it in when things are going well later Owen
Guest lukeap69 Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 oh that's bad. you might have bought a fake c500. LOL
Guest cactusbob Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Perhaps there's nothing wrong with it because she won't let you play with it eh Beery ? :) :P :D
Guest dbiallos Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Same here.. I've had the C500 now for 11 days and absolutely nothing wrong with it. No dust, no crashes had to charge battery only once and been using it a lot. Installed a lot of applications on there. Best phone I have ever owned. Only negative thing was that you can't send your contacts via sms, but found a free app to fix that - so no complaints here
Guest ajb3000 Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Damn, If I were you I'd give Orange Care a call and see if there's anything they can do to rectifiy the situation. That's definitely not normal dude.
Guest barrybryce Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 There is a review of the real C500 in the news forum, and it has some photos. You might want to check that these look like what the nice man in the shop told your wife was a C500. Seriously though, it's a dream phone, certainly compared to my first SPV, which made it back to the shop in three days (stuck on headset profile). Would happily recommend to anyone. I only wish it was easier to get it to bring up the symbols screen without getting either just a space, or the dreaded clunk... Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Honest John Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 It's probably a T610 with a replacement cover. Good battery life, doesn't freeze, Outlook sync through bluetooth, called-id with photos working, email works as well? Yep, it's a T610.
Guest Pinga Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 its only crashed when i have been putting games and whatnot on it. Oh yeah..I can see the perfection in that  You want us to belive you have had somewhat of a painless experience with the C500, and yet you choose to admit problems with crashes while installing games and whatnot in the phone? If your phone got passed the test with those cind of stat's, I'm afraid your critical eye has done a lousy job my friend! :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: Written by Ms. Hyper critical who expect's nothing less than perfection! 8)
Guest cactusbob Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 It's like saying it only crashes when its used :)
Guest Chaser81 Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 My phone has crashed twice since I got it three weeks ago. Pretty good going considering other smartphones I have had have crashed more frequently. The dust is a very annoying problem though.
Guest snakeeater Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 No problems with mine either, finally got a little tiny bit of dust under the screen after owning it for weeks and chuckled to think that people on this forum were going nuts over something so silly  I love it and its probably one of the best phones Ive ever had (and Ive owned MANY!) 8)
Guest midnight Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 No problems with mine either, finally got a little tiny bit of dust under the screen after owning it for weeks and chuckled to think that people on this forum were going nuts over something so silly  I love it and its probably one of the best phones Ive ever had (and Ive owned MANY!) 8) of course, you wouldnt be chuckling so much if you had lots of dust on the screen
Guest beersoft Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 grrr this phone is still performing perfectly, and now my planned "OI, Stinkface this phone you made me get is crap, you use it" isn't going to happen, i think i need to 'break' it and then keep it for 'testing'. i have a new top tip, if your getting your other half a smartphone so you can aquire it, don't put any good ring tones or homescreens on it, because you will never get it off her. (and no its not a dirty SE610 you cheeky buggers) later Owen "still without his C500"
Guest lutzh Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 grrrr. they've stolen my hobby! what do i do now? no questions regarding software freezes, how to improve stand by from 24 to 36 hours, no sd card bug, no noisy sounds from the speaker - hey couldn't you fix the bugs one by one???? cheers, lutz
Guest peekie Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 I think beersofts cracked it guys buy 2 c500,s 1 for yourself and 1 for the wife-girlfriend and then switch it during the night as she will have the better phone :)
Guest Cloda Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 My other half's just had a new Nokia 6230, just after I got my C500. Most asked question of the week has been "Doesn't mine do that?" to which the answer has invariably been "No. It's poo." :) Incidently, I'm getting a bit worried, 'cos there's nothing wrong with mine either (phone, not wife).
