Guest jmrecanize Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Hi, is there any prgram that lets you backup all your sms's to the computer or a separate backup file so if the phone gets wiped and can get them back. I have some text messages that i dont want to lose, sort of sentimental texts as lame as that sounds. I tried using sms 2 mail but that wont convert any texts that have over 160 characters, it just says PI. This is a problem as most of my "sentimental" texts are over 160 characters long. Thanx if anyone can give me any help.

Guest jmrecanize Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Thats pretty good, it does everything i nedd it to except for one thing. After looking at the backup files in notepad i can see that it hasnt saved all of the message. Only the first 160 characters and i have a lot of text messages that exceed that. But thanks for the good find anyway. Can anyone find a way to overcome this for me.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Try SMS Cool from AIM Productions. We have an AIM support section on the site but the app can be bought from www.handango.com
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Another way to backup your SMS messages is by manual export (backup) of cemail.vol plus MAPI (I also include the MAPI folder)...no 3rd party apps needed.
Guest Darkrose.be Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Is any of these programs able to >Send back< the SMS to the phone after an All Reset for example?
Guest ferret Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Sprite Backup does it, but it seems to screw up Activesync after a restore from PC (it leaves it in guest mode so you have to reinstall activesync are then create a new partnership). Never tried a restore from SD card though.

Guest CSid Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 The best backup software i used so far is Jeyo Mobile Companion. I tried sprite backup, SMS Cool, Smartphone Studio, but none seem to have done the right job for me. After that i found that software, and it made life a lor easier. So .. i suggest you try it. It can backup/restore sms, reply/create SMS messages from the pc. So .. seems to be good enough for me. Cheers
