What will happens after a Hard Reset?

What will happen when I use the hard reset? Will it delete all my data and programs? But will all the orange stuff like homescreen, back up, mms settings and so on stay? Is that correct?

When you do a hard reset the phone goes back to its default as new state with all the Orange stuff intact but with no contacts, additional apps, home screens etc
