Guest RazorD Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 I picked me up a bargin today, PC World have screwed up their prices (my friend working there says their new system is always doing this) meaning the Bluetooth Access Point with USB Print Server by belkin is £9.99 (around £80 everywhere else). (www.pcworld.co.uk search for belkin bluetooth, then go into networking kits - update: its out of stock, now :)) Its all connected, got its IP, online, and connected on the internet, sooo, how can i make the phone use it? I know Activesync supports connection over ethernet, mebbi i could pass through the bluetooth AP and onto the PC and it connect that way? -Raz
Guest doyle_am Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Great find! I've just placed an order for a couple now. How long did yours take to arrive? - Andy
Guest RazorD Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Got mine instore :) My friend was doin' the daily scan of the items and noticed it, texted me and i got it :P
Guest doyle_am Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Didn't they query the price? Or did you give a printout of the site or something to show what they're offering it at?
Guest RazorD Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Nope :) Till said £9.99, i think the woman was too dumb to realise what it was.
Guest RazorD Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 Lol! Seen the price this morning?!
Guest doyle_am Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 Yup! Thank god I ordered a couple at 9.99. Have you tried connecting to the internet using your C500 through it?
Guest RazorD Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 Yeh, this is why i posted. It doesnt wanna work. :)
Guest phil-t Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 I suspect its because the C500 does not have any LAN profiles for Bluetooth.... On a PocketPC, it supports the LAN->PPP profile, which means you can access your network, and hence internet.. The C500 does not have any useful Bluetooth profiles.. The AP you have does have a serial profile, but I bet thats for the printer..
Guest dynamo Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Its not even on the pcworld site anymore :)
