E100 always shows "NO SERVICE" please help!

I bought my E100 brand new on PAYG from an Orange shop in January.

Worked fine ever since - was unlocked and application decerted, used with O2 sim card.

But, for some reason today, I just switched the phone off, and changed the sim from one O2 card to another, and ever since switching back on, the phone has shown "No Service", no matter which sim I switch to, on Orange or O2, even when these sims show full reception with any other handset!

I don't know whats happened or how, but I cannot use the phone now.. please advise.

Tap the power button once to get into the quick menu and make sure it states 'Aeroplane on' as a selection. If it does then leave it.

Next go to Settings-Telephony-Networks, Menu-Select a network and the phone will do a search. Hopefully the network provider is found and you can select it manually.

Aeroplane made is definately not on, I tried searching for networks, but I just get:

Current Network: No Service

It just gives me messages saying "Verify you have any reception.."

Problem seems serious :)

I am on the latest rom, should I consider downgrading back to 0.98 and then maybe to an I-mate rom in case it might just sort it out?

Can you refer me to downgrading instructions?

Have you tried the Sim in another phone - Maybe O2 are having problems

You could always try re-installing the latest ROM from Orange.

Also check with Orange incase the phone has been blacklisted by mistake.

i have had this issue sveral times on various e100's, and as martin suggested reinstalling the rom solved this for me

My SPV Classic is giving the same problem. "NO SERVICE". I installed latest rom (ver 1.6) 3 months ago while unlocking to use with T-Mobile USA.

Some times it shows "Invalid SIM". The same SIM works well any other phone.

Any one had luck after reinstalling rom (ver 1.6) with these kind of problems?

Please help. My phone is useless now. :cry:
