MPX200 upgrade/unlock Q

Hi all, newbie here. Just got one of these on Orange 2nd hand. Trying to unlock it and bought a cd off ebay saying it will. But having probs.

Have managed to upgrade to smartphone 2003 so far, seller of cd says it should unlock it automatically, but not so far. Plus there is a file called Alphaflux unlock cab on the cd which he says should do it if the upgrade will not.

Well it doesnt want to seem to install and says 'application failed' everytime.

Any ideas?

Are you trying to app unlock it or SIM unlock it?

Unfortunately you have been conned and I would ask for a refund and also report him to ebay for breaking their site rules. People like this do not help smartphone users or the community in general.

2003 rom which the seller is not legally alowed to sell will

application unlock your phone as only Orange use the

application lock.

As for Alphaflux's cab this shows the guy is talking where the

sun does not shine as the cab was designed to application unlock the 2002 Orange ROM.

rom but the loophole that was used has been closed for some

time now and aplication unlocking can only be done at the

Orange developers site.

I presume you are trying to SIM unlock the phone?

My only issue is that someone else has told me that this is an Orange 'Signature' phone and therefore cannot be used on another network. Is this true?

If it is an Orange phone then it will need to be SIM unlocked

the best place is the link I gave above.

You could try a non Orange SIM first to see if it is already unlocked.
