Xbar is a must for me, as well as:

Orneta Reader (for reading at work)

PocketMusic (for listening to audiobooks on the way to work)

SmartphoneNotes (for those rare occasions I do any work)

SmartExplorer (for general phone maintenance)

Valentin Iliescu Chess (for when I don't feel like reading at work)

I've only recently switched from a Nokia 7650 to an SPV C500, but I'm still using Agile Messenger as my primary app. Even the older version that runs on the SPV C500 beats running seperate programs for ICQ, MSN, AIM, Yahoo and Jabber.

My 2nd app would have been an IRC-app, but there doesn't seem to be one for SmartPhone OS.

My 3rd app would have been AvantGo, but that also doesn't exist for SmartPhone yet. I'll have to start using an RSS-reader.

On my PalmOS-device and Nokia IRC and AvantGo were really important applications, making up for more than half of my time on those devices. I hope they will appear for my new SmartPhone soon.

One application that HAS made it to the SmartPhone, one that I have been using a lot on my PalmOS-device is ChessGenius. After Agile Messenger and Internet Exploder my 3rd important app on my SmartPhone. Let's hope Opera for SmartPhone is released soon, so the top-3 will change again. :)

The last two apps that I use often on the SmartPhone are BetaPlayer for viewing DivX and XviD and Media Player for listening to my MP3's.
