Guest Osiris Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 G'day all, Is this phone just too slow to play video files? or is it the codecs or whatever im using? When I originally got the phone, I took a television show I had in mpeg1, converted it to WMA, and it went relatively smooth playing it in Mediaplayer. Now despite whatever settings I encode a WMA at, it still comes out sketchy, and stops and sputters etc. Am I doing something wrong here? or is WMA not the way to go? I assumed being a windows phone it would probably play WMAs quite well. Anyway feel free to set me straight Thanks in advance.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 wma is not the best format for the phone, what you need is the excellent Beta Player to play divx avi files Have a look in the Articles section there is a post there about converting video files. The post was designed for Pocket MVP but Beta Player is better. More information about BetaPlayer can be found in the Software Application section ( a few posts down)
Guest KingDaddy Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 Unstable 0.91 of Betaplayer plays MPEG-1 files now. Quite nicely, I might add.
