Question about album (scrolling when zoomed)

This might sound dumb but how the hell do you scroll round a picture when its zoomed in using the photo album. Thought i was being a bit james bond when i took a picture of some directions last friday, only problem was to read the text i had to zoom in but couldnt scroll round the image, needles to say my mates were not impressed and i had to make a phone call cos we got lost. Surely ive missed something simple here.

press the joystick in.. then you will notice the overlayed symbols on the bottom left change.. and you can use the joystick to scroll around..

Pressing the joystick toggles between zoom and 'pan' functions..
