Guest SJSpencer Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 Hi everyone I just aquired a C500 and wondering whether you can talk a bit like instant messaging via bluetooth, with other bluetooth phones? Also what other applications and software would you advise me getting to ensure I get the most out of the phone. Thanks ppl Ste
Guest Dr Who Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 To be honest, no other software is needed! I use my phone 'out of the box' and can make phone calls (!), play music, play video (in full screen AND in widescreen), send files via BlueTooth and pretty much anything I can think of.
Guest SJSpencer Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 Cheers for that Dr Who, but is there a way to talk as in messenger via bluetooth if there is a bluetooth phone around you, so you can chat to others? cheers Ste
Guest Blakey Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 Silly question, but if they are within BT range (i.e. 10m) coudn't you just go and *talk* with them!?!?! :-) Blakey

Guest blewer Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 Silly question, but if they are within BT range (i.e. 10m) coudn't you just go and *talk* with them!?!?! :-) Blakey True but, there are applications in the making that will allow you to piggy back lots of peoples bluetooth in order to get to the person you trying. E.g I want to speak to a mate 100m away, so I go through 10 peoples bluetooth to get there. This is all dependent that enough people have bluetooth phones, which i'm sure in the future this will be the case.

However, if there is someone a 100m away, that you want to talk to, surely it's easier to just walk the 100m ?! I can see the opening for a messenger type tool that (only) works via blootooth. It would make the waits at the train station a lot more interesting :)

Maybe with wifi appearing on phones now, this could be a great idea. We will see
