Guest Dr Who Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 Hmmm, I have an interesting 'problem' with receiving files via Bluetooth (NOT acivesync). First, I only have the default Explorer on my phone but I don't see what this would make a difference. When transferring from another C500 (using the default Explorer) I received a 54k .jpg and a 314K .jpg fine. Appeared in My Documnets, OK. However when sending a 5.4Meg .mp3 the file disappeared. This seems to be a common problem. So what I am wondering is, "What is the largest file you have RECEIVED via BT"? Also, "do you have SmartExplorer installed"? Also "What was the file type"? I have sent .jpg's fine but not mp3's, but I haven't had the chance to transfer a large .jpg yet or a small mp3.
Guest syrus Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 I think we ought to keep this discussion in this thread: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=113983 I'm testing file sizes now actually, at 3mb so far..
Guest Dr Who Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 Just thought we might get responses from those who haven't experienced a problem - hence the cross post! Interesting that you have got to 3meg.........looking forward to the results! What file type are you sending, syrus? All types or just .jpg?
Guest syrus Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 That wasn't really a valid test. It looks as though compression is being used, suggesting there's a compressed cache for bluetooth files, perhaps bluetooth uses some kind of compression for xfer, then windows uncompresses to it's destination. The files had the extension .mp3, but were not of any type, just lots of binary 0's :) (hence the compression)
