Guest AaronW Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 Hi, My C500 looks a bit dodgy and may need a replacement. As I have installed most of my apps onto the miniSD card if I put it into my replacement c500 will my apps still work?
Guest Phil Lee Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 Nope. Like most OS'es you need to properly install each app so that it set up in the registry of the phone.
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 That's not like Symbian UIQ You can just stick your memory card in and it learns about the apps you have installed. I would recommend Sprite Backup - it restores the (almost) *everything* to the new phone, but you need to remember the URL to the unlock site in order to unlock the phone because it won't worked on a locked handset (doh!) That also assumes that your phone doesn't kill the memory card when it dies. Mine did that before and it was a bit of a sh1t!
Guest cyrilthefish Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 well actually i've noticed all games and most apps i've tried work fine without being installed, all you need to do is recreate the shortcuts in the start menu! the only real exception is programs like GPRS traffic counter apps, which really do need installing properly Posted from my SmartPhone!
