Spring cleaning c500 - deleting themes?

How do I do this? I've put a few themes on by dropping the zip/cab files into storagemy docs

after i run the cab files they seem to vanish. i've been messing around with themes and a couple of them seem to make my phone lock up requiring a battery pull.

How do I remove unwanted themes? Do I just removed the associated files from

I really like the iCandy homepage/icon set but it seems to be one of the ones causing trouble.

I want to get rid of a couple more but I don't wanna leave orphan files around. I'm fussy on my PC and hate leaving crap all over the place, and I'm the same on my SPV!

Firstly, the cab will always disppear after you run it, unless you change the file properties to Read Only first (I think).

Secondly, you should always check that the skin is compatible with your particular phone / ROM.

Thirdly, when you install a skin by .hme or .cab method you should always remove it by using the Add / Remove Programs tool, either in Programs, Settings or ActiveSync. This ensures all extra screens and registry keys are cleaned up. Failure to do this (sorry to sound so formal.. ) will leave crap behind which can mess things up.

Finally, after uninstallation I would recommend rebooting the phone and manually deleting the skin's folder in IPSM (or Storage) Windows AppMgr.

Did I cover everything ? :)

Yep :)

So if you like to go back to a certain theme it's an idea to keep them on the storage card, then when you want to reinstall say sfter a hard reset etc you can use the file explorer on the phone, reselect the cab and install

without having to use the PC and Activsync.

A question regarding the installation of skins??

How do I force the C500 to use the storage flash as standard folder??

When I install skins, they are being put in the the phone itself, then I move it to the storage card and use theme changer to change from one to another.... BUT now I can see this is a bad idea.

So the question is, can the reg or somthing be changed so everything I install is being put on the storage card and not on the phone??

The install file contains the information where to install the

file to so changeing the registry etc will not do anything.

Normally install files also contain xml files and these need to be kept on the phone while the actual image of the homescreen can be kept in

in My Documents on the storage card.
