Guest dan Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 I've upgraded to the C500 and tried to restore my data using Orange Backup from my backed up data on my previous E200. It keeps saying network error. Please help urgently. I can access websites so the GPRS setting are correct. Bizarrely I can't seem to tick which items I want it to restore - they are all blank. Desparate. Dan
Guest simonbratt99 Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 it worked first time for me, i assume you still have your old phone and data. maybe try backing it up again. Or wait and see if theres a network problem
Guest dan Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 thanks, when you hit Restore, are the four boxes ticked?
Guest simonbratt99 Posted September 10, 2004 Report Posted September 10, 2004 yes, or i couls untick them if wanted
Guest Dr Who Posted September 11, 2004 Report Posted September 11, 2004 btw, if you use orange restore you won't be able to sync your data with outlook using activesync! Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest cerij Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 btw, if you use orange restore you won't be able to sync your data with outlook using activesync! Posted from my SmartPhone! Is that right? I'm sure I use both?
Guest Dr Who Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 If you restore data using Orange restore the data format seems to be incompatible with Outlook and when you try and sync with Outlook activesync 'freezes' and the only way to be able to sync again is to delete all your contacts or reset.
Guest cerij Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 OK - the reason I was confused is because I had to do a hard reset when my phone foze the other day. I then restored contacts from Orange Backup (I was on hols). When I got home I sync'd with Outlook but of course Activesync thought it was a new device so that's probably why it worked. Well, actually it didn't work because even though I asked it to replace the items on my device with the ones on Outlook, it copied some over from the phone to Outlook, which I didn't want.
