Guest tmohammad Posted September 11, 2004 Report Posted September 11, 2004 Hi All, Hoping there is a guru out there! I recently got an SPV C500 on a new contract. The idea was to keep my existing contract/phone number and give my old phone and the new SIM to my wife. Hence keeping the SPV and the old SIM myself. WAP/Internet/Orange World worked OK for a while, in that I could access My "Your Page". Now, I can still get to Orange World portal and go anywhere on the NET, but it seems that the portal is not personalised any more. I used to get the page starting with "Hi Tariq, ......." Now I just get a standard screen. When I try to set up a new "Your page", I get told that it cannot do that as my phone number cannot be determined!!!! Further more, I tried downloading the free Music Player Application, but got told that its for contract customers only.... But I AM A CONTRACT CUSTOMER. I have phoned 156 several times, One updated my connection settings and two SIM updates later..... Still does NOT work properly. Please can anyone help.... I had lots set up on my page and I really miss the "Your Share Portfolio" link I even went to the flagship Bull Ring store, spoke to a Phone Trainer who was absolutely no use whatsoever, he just told me to phone 156!!!!! Guest jbrare Posted September 11, 2004 Report Posted September 11, 2004 I had the very same problem when I upgraded to my E200. It worked on the classic SPV I had then the moment I upgraded to the E200 it stopped recognising my phone to load my "Your Page". Orange were at a loss as to the cause. All of a sudden it started working about three months after the upgrade and has done ever since, I did nothing myself to resolve it. I know this is of no help what so ever but I don't think it's your phone or any other C500, I think it's Orange who are to blame. Perhaps they are slow at updating whatever it is that controls this page.......who knows.....the truth is out there!! :) :lol: :lol: JB
Guest martin Posted September 11, 2004 Report Posted September 11, 2004 I also have an SPV and went out and bought a C500 with a new SIM/account but when I put my old SIM in the C500 it works OK. I had to go to 'your page' and select 'Start adding to your page' (or something like that) and then enter my name. Did you get that option ? Have you tried the old SIM in the original SPV again ? BTW I downloaded Fireplayer to me C500 too and that worked :)
