IRC Software for SmartPhones

Hi,

The name SmartIRC seems to pop-up on several occasions - several different programs even. I've been using the one from SmartIrc.net, but that is severely limited in it's use. To put it bluntly, the program needs a LOT of work and loads of extra programmers to make it useful.

I recently switched from using my trusty Nokia 7650 to the SPV C500 and on the Nokia I used WirelessIRC. Chatting with that app was a dream. Easily chatting on several channels simultaneously, private chats, DCC-filetransfers etc...

There seems to be another SmartIRC out there, SmartIRC by My_Keul, but that doesn't seem to have been updated recently.

IRC is one of those things that suits GPRS-connections perfectly as it is very low-bandwidth-consuming. On my Nokia 7650 I was on-line wherever I went. I'd hate to have to forego chatting on IRC. :)

Are there alternatives out there that I have missed in my searches on the Internet?

Let me refresh this thread - as it is a month later and things seem to be moving rapidly with this OS.

I still haven't found a decent IRC-app so I'm still searching. IRC has been an important part of my life for about 5 years now and my biggest gripe with Windows Mobile currently is that there just isn't a single usefull IRC-app out there that I can use.

I've been chatting on Nokia Series-60 and PalmOS, but nothing even comes close on Windows Mobile that I've been able to find. :cry:

I would like a working IRC app too, I liked and used mIRC alot - I wonder if the author has considered porting to Windows Mobile? Maybe it would be worth dropping him an email...
