Dutch Orange SPV and emigration

Hi

I am finishing my Dutch Orange contract this November. I have the phone once renewed with the insurance company (called Pro Assist)because of damage.

I am going to emigrate to Spain in November.

My questions:

Can I keep the phone or do I have to return it to Pro Assist?

And can I use my Dutch SPV (the first one) in Spain, with an other (Spanish) contract?

I don't know if it is 'Sim locked', but I have my own progz installed on it. Can I simply put in a 'Spanish SIM card'? Do I have to reinstall progz after a Spanish contract?

Let me know if you have some answers.

Thanks!

Angela

Sorry for the late response,

As long as you do not have any contract outstanding with your network the phone is yours and you can keep it.

As for Pro Assist you would have to read their terms and conditions

but normaly an insurance policy is just that and they do not own the phone.

You will need to SIM unlock your phone to use it on another network

Click on the highlighted words in the post for instructions on how to do this. :)

Is doing a SIM Unlock as you mentioned the same as doing that thing when you want to install progz on the SPV?

Thanks for the reaction btw!

Not quite,

SIM unlocking enables you to use any other networks SIM cards

Application unlocking enables you to run unsigned software.

As mentioned above you will need to SIM unlock the phone to be able to use it with a different network.
