Guest philg2000 Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 I've had a quick search for this but to no avail. Is it possible to disable the flashing blue LED, but still have BT on? Another thing I'd like to do is reassign the camera key to toggle BT on & off - that would be VERY useful !
Guest Jasonkruys Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 Why would you ever want to turn it off? Unless it is actually being used for something it doesn't use any significant extra battery power
Guest zippy172 Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 The Bluetooth LED does a very good job of illuminating my bedroom as I'm trying to get to sleep! Obvious solution to this problem is to turn the phone upside down :) Having said that, it would be nice if you could disable the LED...
Guest midnight Posted September 12, 2004 Report Posted September 12, 2004 gah, this old thing again, this cropped up with the original SPV, and no, you cant disable the LED. Besides, you guys must have VERY thin eyelids if you can see the led light through them. philg2000, you can turn BT off by holding down the Home key and selecting the Blutooth option in the menu that appears.
Guest philg2000 Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 I've just found the BT Toggle app, and installed that on a SpeedDial. Works a treat! I think I need to do some research about custom homescreens and plugins, maybe be able to run this app from a home screen? As for disabling the Blue LED, I agree its useful, but not in the car when driving in the dark. I have the phone "attached" to the dash so I can use it to dial out, using a SOnyEric BT kit. But the flashing blue light is very distracting. Maybe I'll just put a small piece of black tape over it.
Guest syrus Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 Come on guys, don't you have something better to do than try and figure out how to turn off an LED! Try fixing > 500/600k bluetooth incoming transfers instead :)
Guest philg2000 Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 Well, Bluetooth raw data rate is only around 750kBits/Second, so with overheads (such as packet headers, Acks, etc) getting around 500-600K is good, and certainly up neat the maximum possible.
Guest syrus Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 I was talking about max file size, not bandwidth!
