Guest TANKERx Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 Hi, I've applied the settings for O2 WAP (GPRS) as specified in the Articles forum, but my MPx200 just flashes the 'G' three times before asking me if I've got network coverage. I have an MPx200 with WM2K2, reflashed from 2K3. Does anybody know of any known issues regarding this setup? Thanks.
Guest martin Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 If the small just G flashes and you get 'unable to connect' then the Access Point Name might be incorrect. Which APN are you using and what type of account do you have ?
Guest jamster Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 It took me ages to get this set up so that both WAP and HTML work: Settings -> Data Connections -> Edit Connections GPRS Connections: 1) o2wap Connects to The Internet accesspoint: payandgo.o2.co.uk username: payandgo password: password primary dns: 193.113.200.200 secondary dns: 192.113.200.201 ip address: blank 2) o2web Connects to WAP Network accesspoint: payandgo.o2.co.uk username: payandgo password: password primary dns: 193.113.200.200 secondary dns: 192.113.200.201 ip address: blank Settings -> Data Connections -> Edit Connections Proxies: 1) o2wap proxy Connects from: the internet Connects to: wap network Proxy: 193.113.200.195 type: WAP 2) o2web proxy Connects from: WAP network Connects to: The internet Proxy: 192.113.200.195:80 type: HTTP (NB: notice second proxy has :80 first does not) Settings -> Data Connections Data Connections: Internet Connection: o2web WAP Connection: o2wap Internet Explorer -> Options -> Connections "Automatically detect settings" ticked Select network: WAP Network This should (touch wood) work - let me know if it doesn't as I don't have my o2 sim card with me I will try again tommorrow to confirm I got everything right. It even gets around the problem of Internet Explorer sending the wrong browser agent to wap sites. It's a bit of a hack - basically if it detects a wap site it will connect to what it thinks is the internet access point (actually o2 pay and go only has one access point) and use a wap proxy, and vice versa. You just have to remember to prefix your wap sites with wsp:// not http:// eg. wsp://www.google.com/wml
Guest huwdw Posted September 18, 2004 Report Posted September 18, 2004 Does this allow you to use MSN on o2 gprs payg?
