Providers of Third Party Warranties?

So I went into Currys on Saturday and bought a Digix LCDTV reduced from £900 (alledgedly) to £450. Having looked at these for a while now I was stunned by the quality of the picture on this set - far better than sets costing £1500! (If you were thinking of buying an LCDTV get to Currys before tomorrow and check it out, it really is amazing and has SCART, SVHS, Composite AND VGA input!).

Anyhoo, they asked whether I wanted to take out their extended warranty for a couple of hundred quid, to which I obviously said, "No!". Having thought about it though, I imagine this will cost a fortune to repair (Digix is a Currys ownbrand) and in some ways I might want a warranty. Anyone know of any companys/insurance that provide extended warranty cover? I vaguely remember this was touched upon regarding laptops recently but I couldn't find the post! Any help would be appreciated.

I realise it's a little late now, but some credit cards offer a free extended warranty on certain items, e.g. Barclaycard.

You could try contacting the manufacturer and see if they offer an extended warranty. My Loewe TV came with an offer for an extended warranty.

There are several places on the internet that offer extended warranties, e.g.

Just google 'extended warranty'
