Spv c500...some clarification for us Americans....

Sorry if this has been discussed before...but I have some questions regarding the c500 (or one of the other million versions of it) and I did a lot of searching and can't find the answers.

1. Will an unlocked c500 work on Att or Cingulars (US/California's) network?

2. Will the T-mobile Typhoon make it to the US? If yes, when?

3. Are there any plans for any of the c500/Typhoon/Qtek 8010 or 8020/Imate sm3 or sm3i to come to the US?

4. If the c500 works on Att or Cingular how would a person get an update to the software/rom to fix the current bugs?

I've been waiting for a phone like this forever. I'm currently a Sprint user (love the service) but I'm going to jump ship if I can land one of these phones.

Someone please help! :)

Welcome rkdiddy

1. Will an unlocked c500 work on Att or Cingulars (US/California's) network?
The SPV is tri band GSM 900/1800/1900 and I believe that AT&T/Cingular uses a mix of GSM 850 and GSM 1900 so if you happen to be in the area of GSM850 coverage then this phone will not pick it up. T-mobile is completely GSM 1900 so it would be the better network for the C500. Not too sure what the other US networks are using as far as GSM goes.

2. Will the T-mobile Typhoon make it to the US? If yes, when?
I'm not sure if T-mobile US (or any other US networks) have made announcements as yet but an I-mate model is planned for the US via independant distribution .

3. Are there any plans for any of the c500/Typhoon/Qtek 8010 or 8020/Imate sm3 or sm3i to come to the US?
The imate SP3i is the phone officially scheduled for US release and it is a triband GSM 850/1800/1900 so it will be ideal for AT&T. See HERE and HERE for more information.

4. If the c500 works on Att or Cingular how would a person get an update to the software/rom to fix the current bugs?
Updates for the SPV's are usually downloaded from the Orange internet site. If the phones is branded i-mate then software updates would be downloaded from the i-mate website.

And your right - this phone ROCKS
