Guest dvdpete Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 Can the C500 be used as an analogue radio? I appreciate that I could use streaming, but this could become expensive, and for my daily commute on the train through patchy areas, this wouldn't be ideal. I really want this phone, but the only thing I'm not sure on is whether there is s/w available to make this receive analogue FM signals. Any advice? Thanks Pete
Guest Phil Lee Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 The C500 does not have an FM radio in it.
Guest dvdpete Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 If I use streaming, such as www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 then how can I listen to Real player streams as I've read here that Real Player isn't available on the C500 smartphone?
Guest dynamo Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Wouldn't you rather listen to your favourite mp3 tracks instead :) I like the radio feature on teh K700i but it is no where near as functional as the SPV!
Guest richyrich2 Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 There's no doubt FM radio is the missing feature on the C500 IMO. If it had that, my iRiver, even with it's 40GB, would be on eBay now!

Guest ferret Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Nope, I beleive even the original Orange blurb stated FM radio. They get confused with the ability to turn off the GSM radio (the 'actual' mobile phone bit).
