Guest idavid Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 i think this looks pretty good. as someone who would love do make homescreens, but with zero xml knowledge i would certainly like to have a go. it will be important that the program can support more pugins. there are tons around and most people want lots!!
Guest crafty Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 Looks faintastic - good work Dumdidum - especially for all thoes people with good ideas but scared off by the xml side of making a homescreen. Look forward to seeing LOTS more homescreens emerging! Any plans to extend support to include the Orange plugins from the E200 or the new (abaxia) ones on the C500? Also - can the designer handle multi-screen homescreens?
Guest Disco Stu Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 Fantastic :) I'd be looking to incorporate third-party plugins too, particularly Twyx's analoge clock
Guest furby Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 Looks really good. I'm good with photoshop, but my xml for smartphes isn't the greatest. Hope we see it soon :)
Guest scottyucl Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 Any ideas when its going to be available? Scott
Guest Dumdidum Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 We do not have a fixed release date, but you can expect it in the next two weeks... The Ruttensoft-Team
Guest SinisterJunkie Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 Looks real nice. Will this support a Samsung i600?
Guest lutzh Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 great! can't wait for it because it will save me alot of time to create my personal homescreens.... cheers, lutz
Guest Dumdidum Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 Hi It will definitly work on every Smartphone 2003-Phone, we will test it on Smartphone 2002-Phones too... Should work... The Ruttensoft-Team
Guest mavisdavis Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 This is what I've been waiting for since 2001 when the 1st MS devices where introduced. Any ideas on the cost as I wouldn't mind paying for this. Also any chance of doing extra screens?? and creating the shadow effect like the C500 homescreen?
Guest Dumdidum Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 Hi What it will cost is not yet clear, but it will not be freeware as we put a lot of time into it... I hope you understand this... Unfortunatly nobody could explain how Orange made the C500-Homescreen - it's only working on this phone and that's why we will not include it... The Ruttensoft-Team
Guest mavisdavis Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 Thanks for the reply. I dont expect this to be free in the least. I can imagine how much work is involved as I've tried xml with dissasterous results :) Keep it up and be to long in releasing it. Any chance I could beta for ya
Guest nickcornaglia Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 Great for newbies and more experienced homescreen makers as well. Could one import existing homescreens into this and edit from there. Looks like nice work! :)
Guest Dumdidum Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 Import of Homescreens will not be supported in the first release as there are so many ways to code a Homescreen that it is not possible to read all these possiblitys...
Guest midnight Posted September 16, 2004 Report Posted September 16, 2004 do you plan on supporting stuff like different selection states, eg. changing background, changing text position on selection etc.? Cos these are essential for advanced homescreen makers.
Guest Dumdidum Posted September 16, 2004 Report Posted September 16, 2004 In the first release this will not be included... Homescreen Designer is mainly intended for Non-Experienced Users who don't know how to code the XML-File... But in next releases there will be a lot more in it... Sven
Guest Dumdidum Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Here is a new Flash Animation of it (inkl. Alarm and WMP-Plugin) http://www.ruttensoft.com/homescreendesign...gner/Index.html
Guest furby Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 OMG That looks brilliant, can't wait to have a play Will it have a "snap-to-grid" function in it? might be useful aligning text and the like
Guest pwest13 Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 I will beta for you if you need me.
Guest Bunzzing Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Looks great. Will definately buy a copy if the price is ok.
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Like most I think it looks great, but support for 3rd party plugins (the HTML thingy especially) is essential Looking forward to trying it out!
Guest Dumdidum Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Hi Generally we want to make the use of the application as easy as possible and that's why we want not to implement too much plugins... Which HTML-Plugin do you mean? Could you give us a link? Thanks Sven
Guest drblow Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 This certainly looks interesting ... kind of hard to judge from just a few screenshots. But it definately looks the part for beginners, and I guess for anyone with a bit of xml experience, it would still be very useful to be able to drag graphics around a screen to fit plugins together, if thats what this app is capable of providing. Look forward to some kind of demo/test version.
Guest Taoski Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 I was a little dubious of the product (after seeing other developers attempts).....until i saw the flash demo! Thats amazing! Totally amazing! Really amazing! Excellent work! Can't wait! Will it work on my Nokia too? I guess i will have to go and buy a C500 now... lol :) Cool.
