No C500 Answrphone Speed dial ?! Also...

Can anyone help me ?

Took delivery of my C500 today.

The answerphone speedial (key 1) has no number associated with it, just a "+" (international symbol). And of course you can't edit Speedial Key 1.....

Also.. anyone know where I can get a spare data cable ??

You can set the Voicemail number in Settings-Phone-Call options :)

For a spare data cable mate any mini USB will work, you can find them easily on the net. I bought one recently from Creative.com for about £9 including delivery. If you do a search on google you'll probably find one cheaper.

I use my Canon USB-mini cable at home and the phone charges from it with no problems. I keep the C500 cable connected to my work PC.

I also have a problem with Answerphone speeddial. I have setup +447973100123 as the Voice mail number in Call Options, but holding down "1" just results in "1" being displayed! Any ideas?

Ok I sorted it!

I went into:

start > more > more > accessories > speed dial

then I just clicked on the answerphone setting and then clicked again and it started dialling (+447973100123). Then I went back to the home screen and held down 1.

BINGO!!!!!!

It's really weird that I had to do this to get it working but now it's sorted :)

Okay, I can add a more doofus like response to this thread.

Tried speed dial 1. Didn't work. Figured out it wasn't mapped. So in a logically illogical way I thought "hey I'll delete the mapping and remap it to an entry in my contact for 123".

Deleted the mapping then found out you can't remap speed dial to button 1 as it's reserved.

So you can delete the mapping but not create it!

HELP!

Okay, can't explain how, but it appears to have re-mapped itself back to Speed dial 1.

Weird, but clever. ^_^

Try rebooting your phone.

Just to let you know I haven't touched my speed dials but when i use SD 1 It dials 123456

Still gets through to the answerphone as 123 are the first 3 numbers but looks like it wouldn't work from abroad. I have no idea who programmed this.
