Guest mashkhan Posted September 16, 2004 Report Posted September 16, 2004 We've all read about the multipress problems and how the C500 isn't suited for gaming. However luckily for us they included Java which gives us access to a whole load of Java apps and games. Please also note all the games I've tested use the number pad :) , so no multipress issues here! I've been testing a few and thought we need a place to post the games we've tried. Please note, Do not ask me for copies of games etc, if they are available for free I will state where. Pang Clone (Free on Cool Smartphone) - It's Pang, it's in a titchy window and it's alright. Rampage Clone (Free on Cool Smartphone) It was crap years ago, nothings changed Prince of Persia : Sands of Time - Whilst the game itself loads, it doesn't respond to any button presses  Splinter Cell 2 : Now this is more like it, it looks great. Plays really well on the number pad. Unfortuantely, there doesn't seem to be any way of exiting the game apart from removing the battery. Shame, as it would have been the best game available. XIII : Out of all the games I've tested this is the best. It looks great, plays well and more importantly works properly. I think there might be an issue with the size of the java games running, I've noticed the larger games Prince of Persia/Splinter Cell 2 having problems. Will need to test some more though.
Guest Republic-of-yorks Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Hello i have also tryed to install XIII but i does not work for me at all , what way did you install it ?
Guest mashkhan Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Copied the .jar file onto my SD card. Opened up Java, ran install. Then executed game. I always make sure that I've got nothing running in the background.
Guest Republic-of-yorks Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 thanks for the help but it still did not work
Guest spud693 Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 mobile soccer manager works... other than that, i tried XIII but it just brought up a a white square on the screen and nothing else. fifa 2004 done exactly the same.
Guest spud693 Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 anyone got any idea what im doing wrong? it's got me a tad confused given that they are supposed to work... (in the case of XIII, anyway)
Guest phAn Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 I think there are more versions of XIII out there. Some work, some don't. There are many different types of phones out there, and some games are coded specially for one (type of) phone. It's usually a surprise what will and what will not work on my c500. Most midles won't work, and most apps completely lock up the phone in my experience. I haven't found a javagame which works excellent on my c500. Some simple things as "Trivia King" or "Pocket Quotes" seem to work fine. "Snake" runs reasonably too, no sound however. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time runs, but locks up the phone if you try to exit. I got XIII working too.
Guest mashkhan Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 I've found the games that work best are intended for the higher end Nokia phones. Phones like the 7600. The Gameloft games work really well and are well designed. I've been playing Splinter Cell : Pandora Tommorow and it works really well, no problems exiting or anything. Although it will crash if you press the Home button.
