Guest intastella Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 I'd like to listen to the music on my Orange spv c500 with regular headphones. I'm looking for where to buy the required adapter and am a bit confused by the options. At expansys, they have a few models but they seemed to be designed for the Pocket PC Phone edition (with 4 pins on the 2.5mm jack) or possibly other phones. I don't really need the double adapter which gives 3.5 headphone and 2.5 headset (although I don't mind if it's there). What I really want is a simple 2.5mm to 3.5mm stereo headphone jack. Here are some of the products that expansys sell. Can anyone tell me which would be appropriate or if there is somewhere else online (in the UK) that sells these? http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=113967 - most likely I suppose - but don't want the mic http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=109747 - simplest, but will it work http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=010-10344-00 - same thing? http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=PPCPADPT01 - this might be handy as it gives the option to have both headset and headphones, but will 4pin 2.5mm work on a smartphone? Any help appreciated. intastella
Guest britgamer Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 Hi I've ordered the bottom product (the one with the 4 pin connector to a standard 2.5 and a 3.5). It should've arrived today but didn't  I'l let you know how I get on once it arrives. It seems to me though that the standard headphones that come with the c500 have a 4pin connector so I guess you'd want an adaptor with the same. If anyone knows different though tell me!
Guest Dr Who Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 must have the same number of segments on the plug as the included headset otherwise you are shorting across the plug. you can definitely get the right bit from expansys. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest britgamer Posted September 18, 2004 Report Posted September 18, 2004 I got my adaptor this morning along with a 256mb mini sd card :) Its working perfectly with my c500 and is sounding much better with my sennheiser headphones than with the original ones!
Guest intastella Posted September 18, 2004 Report Posted September 18, 2004 That's great, it's very handy to know this before ordering. Thanks for your help.
Guest zippy172 Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 Just ordered myself one of these too: http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=PPCPADPT01 :)
Guest Moria Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Just ordered myself one of these too: http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=PPCPADPT01 :) Will that work with the E200? Edit: Sorry for bumping this thread up, I did a search for headphones and this came up!
Guest jet5354 Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=010-10344-00 will this one work?
Guest rameses Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=010-10344-00 will this one work? It's unlikely it will, as Dr Who said earlier in the post "must have the same number of segments on the plug as the included headset otherwise you are shorting across the plug. you can definitely get the right bit from expansys. "
Guest rct_uk Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 I'm thinking about buying this one. Although it's expensive, it should be worth it imho. I bought something similar from them a while back when I was using my Siemens SL42 and it was excellent.
