Guest karoto Posted September 18, 2004 Report Posted September 18, 2004 hi my name is panos. recently i was install the wm2003 , i didn't like it so i decide to get back on original rom. The BEN6-0630-012.img it didn't work fine for me , and thats for i was able to find an other version the Ben-6-0900-052.img which is play much better.. my problem now is the exist  My provider is vodafone. So to connect on internet from mpx200 over gprs you have to setup jMMS correctly.. The documentation that gsmprovider sending me on how to setup grps&mms settings it says to go at the following: Programs - More - Settings - Data Connections - Menu - Edit Connections - Gprs Connections - Menu - Add Description Vodafone MMS Connect To MMS Connection Access Point Name (APN) mms.vodafone.net UserName user Password pass and then.. Programs - More - Accessories - MMS Setup - Profile Profile VF MMS <---- one here MMSC http://mms.vodafone.gr Data Connection VF MMS <----- and one here???? Gateway Wap1.0 gateway IP 213.249.019.049 Port 9201 Encoding Binary Encoding So the problem appears when i try to select the DATA CONNECTION into mms client, where it does not exist "VF MMS" but only the "Vοdafone MMS" why that?? and also if i set the "Connect to:" to "MMS Connection" from GPRS Connection then in the DATA Connections all 4 type of connections is marked as "None Available" (probable the Internet Connection should at least says something about automatic or Vodafone MMS right?) With this configuration if i try to send mms to my self , then i can get it and send it also..but if i try to connect to internet i can't!! I was give it a try at internet explorer to change the connections on the "Select Network:" from "The Internet" , to "MMS Connection". If i am doing this , the G appears and tries to connect , but after 1 minutes of searching it tell's me "The page you are looking for cannot be found" hmm...i was also try the pages from the favorites , the same result :) is there any solution for that problem?? is something of my fault? or problem with my image??

Guest karoto Posted September 18, 2004 Report Posted September 18, 2004 Well .. nope.. we have completely different connection here in greece.. I believe that to receive gprs data from vodafone here in greece is the following.. the phone , connect to the gprs service something like gateway mmm.vodafone.net as i typed earlier and then it grand's access for mms.vodafone.gr where again uses the mms.vodafone.gr for getting date from the internet .. but! the jMMS won't let me select jmms profile to use where i have create in the jMMS client , but it let me see the GPRS data connection (profiles) that is WRONG!! at least as it describe into the documentation of vodafone.gr.. the configuration of the first post i was created it was from the vodafone.gr site for my mpx200..and i remember where i was used again before 6 months to make my change and get connected to the internet..and it was worked..(yes becouse i was able to select VF MMS (where is jMMS client profile) into the jMMS VF MMS "data connection".. is there any gprs fix for wm2002 ?? or something like that?? does other users has report problems for gprs restoring back the generic rom?i've hope not being alone right?
Guest martin Posted September 18, 2004 Report Posted September 18, 2004 karoto, if you had MMS send and receiving then those settings will be correct. What you then need to do is create another GPRS connection for the Internet. Go to GPRS connection and use Menu-Add Description: Vodafone Internet Connects to: The Internet Access point: internet.vodafone.gr In data connection make 'Internet connection: Vodafone Internet'. Also in Internet explorer make 'Select network: The Internet' :) You might also have the option of using WAP over GPRS which is probably APN wap.vodafone.gr + WAP proxy connection but you won't really need this if you already have the full internet service.
Guest karoto Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 man.. you are great :) thanx for the help it is work!!! but why ?? i mean.. the public documentation of vodafone it doesn't says anything about internet.vodafone.gr .. mmm too many secrets is healing out there ) but anyway thanx again for the help now i can see internet and mms with my mpx200 By the way my wm2002 version is: Ver 3.0 Build 13258 Operator:1.0.12.63 Manufacturer: 1.0.12.63 Is good idea to search for something more new? or should i leave it as it is ??
